Terms and conditions are sent to individuals prior to departure. These must be read and signed and returned to SWAP to proceed on the volunteer placement. Each volunteer programme has a separate terms and conditiions which will be forwarded to the individual prior to departure.

Mentawai Adventure will not be held responsible for injury, death, damage, loss, delay, cost, expense, or inconvenience arising from travel misfortunes, surfing related accidents or incidents experienced during working on the volunteer projects and activities.
Documents
1. Passports must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of departure.
2. If applicable, a valid visa is required for travel & we suggest ALL guests travelling overseas confirm current visa requirements before departure.
Surf tours/boat tours
Surf tours relate to transport to the surf spot i.e. transport you to the best surf spot in the locality depending on your ability and preference. We will also provide information regarding tides, winds, rips and access to/from the break. This is only suitable for experienced surfers and does not include any supervision services of surfers - you will be expected to be able to surf independently.

1. For volunteers, download our application form via our website and attach, with a cover letter and return to mail@swaptravel.org
2. Full payment is required for successful application. A refund of 70% is available (30%retained as non-refundable deposit) if cancelled 30-days prior to departure.
3. A plane ticket must be booked to Padang for an arrival on either Friday or Saturday (day of departure to the Mentawais).
4. You are greeted at the airport and after customs are escorted from the airport
5. During the one month, the following is included in the price: Transfers, accomodation, food and surf.
6. You will be escorted back to Padang airport on the day of departure
7. All voluntary placements begin on Saturday and end on a Tuesday. Note: Arrival time in Padang must be no later than 12.00 midday. Departure time from Padang must be no earlier than 10.00am. SWAP recommends Batavia, Adam Air and Air Asia as the most efficient domestic airlines.
8. Due to the difficulties of transport to/from the islands, the voluntary placement exceeds 30 days.
9. It is possible to obtain a 60day visa prior to departure at the nearest Indonesian consulate. 'Visa on Arrival' is limited to 30 days and will incur a penalty fee of $25USD per day that exceed the limit
10. Evidence of full travel insurance complete with MediVac costs included is compulsory to access Siloinak Island
Note: Minimum age for volunteers is 18
