What is usually found in these 'untouched' areas is unique cultures and societies, a fragile landscape and of course a variety of amazing waves. In the past it has been difficult for visting surfers to participate in any projects in surfing areas. SWAP has been designed to give the opportunity for surfers to give something back to these areas. Whether it be through volunteering or through supporting our aims, SWAP is developing a series of programmes to promote and raise awareness on a series of issues overseas.  

Our main aims are:

Create a range of volunteer opportunities in surfing destinations

Raise awareness on a variety of environmental, social and cultural issues

Support locally managed industries and businesses in surfing destinations

Provide opportunities to surf and volunteer with 'environmentally and socially conscious' companies

Create higher levels of responsible travel      

With a predominant environmental and social background SWAP supports revolutionary techniques that are helping to combat the environmental and social issues in society today. Working alongside companies and organisations overseas, SWAP is developing a network of sustainably conscious companies that are tackling the issue. We hope to continue to expand to other surfing destinations overseas.
