Resorts Vero Beach - For the discerning, but budget-conscious traveler, Vero Beach resorts make for a great escape.

For many years surfers have traveled to regions far off the beaten track, areas where the average person would not even consider visiting. What is usually found in these 'untouched' areas is unique cultures and societies, a fragile landscape and of course a variety of amazing waves. In the past it has been difficult for visiting surfers to participate in any projects in surfing areas. SWAP has been designed to give the opportunity for surfers to give something back to these areas and for 2009/10 we continue to offer opportunities whether it be in developing regions or closer to home. Whether it be through volunteering or through supporting our aims, SWAP is developing a series of programmes to promote and raise awareness on a series of environmental issues.

Working alongside companies and organisations overseas, SWAP is developing a network of sustainably conscious companies that are tackling the issue. At some point you will probably take a traditional vacation that presents little opportunity to volunteer. This doesn't mean, however, that you should leave your environmental awareness behind. Many brand name resort developers like Marriott offer incentive programs when you book a hotel room or rent timeshare in which a portion of the total cost of your stay is contributed to a wildlife or rainforest preservation fund. Just do a little research before you vacation, and you can still make a difference.
